School of Economics and Management, Narxoz University scooped the coveted BGA Business School Impact Award, at the world-renowned Association of MBA’s (AMBA) and Business Graduates Association (BGA) Excellence Awards 2026 for Narxoz/CIM Integration Initiative.
The AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards 2026 were held on January 23, 2026 at the exceptional Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London. The Awards brought together leading lights from the global business education community to celebrate excellence and commend achievement among business schools, MBA students and graduates, suppliers and employers.
The ceremony was attended by more than 200 business school leaders, as well as category finalists, judges and members of the media.
The BGA Business School Impact Award is a celebration of business schools’ positive impact on all their stakeholders – from students and graduates to communities and the economy as a whole – in line with BGA’s vision and charter.
It is designed to showcase how business schools are contributing to the betterment of society using both quantitative and qualitative analysis of activities, initiatives and/or programmes.
Narxoz University’s School of Economics and Management, have pioneered the integration of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) into higher education in Central Asia. This bold reform bridged academia and industry, doubling employability and placing students in firms like Danone and Yandex. In just two years, the school has embedded ESG, AI, and strategic marketing into their curriculum, certified faculty internationally, and secured sponsorships for student access. As the region’s first mover, Narxoz University’s School of Economics and Management has built a scalable, inclusive model of business education - setting a benchmark for emerging markets.
“This award reflects a conscious shift in the development of business education — from the transmission of knowledge to the strengthening of professional competencies.
The integration of CIM methodologies into our marketing programmes enabled us to align academic rigour with real market expectations. It enhanced the competitiveness of our faculty, expanded the use of global managerial and marketing frameworks within the learning process, and increased students ’career opportunities and confidence in applying their skills to real business cases.
Most importantly, the initiative has proven to be sustainable and scalable, demonstrating measurable outcomes for students, employers, and the wider ecosystem. We view this approach as a model for how business schools in Central Asia can provide accessible, internationally competitive education.” Said Dr. Zhanar Dyussembekova, Professor, DipM CIM, BBA and MSc in Marketing Programmes Manager, School of Economics and Management, Narxoz University.
Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (AMBA & BGA) said: “On behalf of the AMBA & BGA team, I am delighted to congratulate the School of Economics and Management at Narxoz University on winning this year’s BGA Business School Impact Award for its outstanding Narxoz/CIM Integration Initiative. The calibre of submissions for this award was exceptionally high, and Narxoz’s achievement stands out as a powerful example of how business schools can drive real, measurable impact for students, industry and society.
“This initiative demonstrates an inspiring commitment to responsible management, employability, and innovation in an emerging‑market context – precisely the kind of excellence we aim to celebrate with the BGA awards.”
“I would also like to thank our sponsors, Ready Education, GMAC and Cesim Business Simulations, for their continued support of our awards and of the global business education community.”
