International Business School, Beijing Foreign Studies University

The International Business School (IBS) at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), established in 2001, has grown into one of the university’s most significant and comprehensive faculties. With a focus on integrating language expertise with business education, IBS offers a wide array of programs, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. This growth reflects IBS's strategic response to the shifting global economic landscape and its commitment to equipping students with the skills needed for the complexities of international business.

IBS’s academic strength is evident in its structured composition and research contributions. The school is composed of six major departments: International Economics, Finance, Accounting and Financial Management, Business Administration, International Business, and Management Science. These departments form the foundation of IBS’s academic offerings, seamlessly blending theoretical instruction with practical application. The school’s academic reputation is further reinforced by its prominent research centers, such as the G20 Research Center, Management Science Research Center, and Cross-Cultural Management Research Center, which contribute significantly to its distinguished research output.

The school’s academic structure is supported by a dedicated team of 147 faculty and staff members, of which 70 hold full-time faculty positions. This ensures that IBS maintains a high standard of teaching and research. The faculty includes postgraduate counselors and foreign lecturers, adding an international dimension to its teaching approach. The institute-appointed staff complement the efforts to create an enhanced educational environment. Presently, IBS serves a diverse student population of over 3,000, encompassing undergraduates, master’s and doctoral candidates, international students, and international foundation program students. This diversity underscores IBS’s commitment to fostering a global perspective in its academic environment.
