AMBA MBA Director of the Year Award
The AMBA MBA Director of the Year Award is central to upholding AMBA’s commitment to maintaining the MBA degree as the premier global business qualification. It celebrates Programme Directors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and management of their MBA programmes, enabling their institutions to deliver truly transformative experiences that create meaningful opportunities for all participants.

Eligibility
The award is open to any current MBA Director at an AMBA-accredited school. AMBA-accredited business schools are invited to nominate one MBA Director who they think is eligible based on the Award Criteria. Only one nomination can be accepted from each school.
The business school must notify the nominee of their nomination. Entries must be submitted by someone other than the nominee.
Accepted job titles include:
- MBA Director/Programme Lead
- MBM Director/Programme Lead
- Executive MBA Director/Programme Lead
- DBA Director
Ineligibility
- MBA Directors may NOT nominate themselves for this award
- Ineligible entries may be disqualified at any phase of the competition without notification
- Late submissions will be ineligible
- Incomplete submissions will be ineligible
Award Criteria
- The nominee shows outstanding leadership
- The nominee has introduced innovative teaching methods, technologies, or programme structures that enhance the MBA experience.
- The nominee has fostered a strong sense of community among MBA students and alumni, leading to measurable improvements in engagement and satisfaction.
- The nominee has developed meaningful partnerships with businesses, enhancing the MBA’s relevance and providing students with real-world exposure.
- The nominee has integrated sustainability and social responsibility into the MBA curriculum or extracurricular initiatives, aligning with global business trends.
- The nominee has actively promoted diversity, equity, and inclusion within the MBA programme, ensuring broad accessibility and representation.
- The nominee has implemented initiatives that have significantly improved MBA graduates’ career prospects and employability.
Shortlisted finalists will be invited to a zoom interview with the judges for this award. We will also request finalists to provide a biography, photo and answers to why they should win this award which we will use for marketing purposes.
