Founded in 1979 by regional business leaders, Universidad Icesi is a private, nonprofit university located in Cali, Colombia. Its entrepreneurial origins and significant collaborations with a wide range of organizations have been advantageous to grow the capacities of Icesi. It was created with the support of leading companies that are still involved in the institution’s governing bodies through their representatives on the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors. The participation of business leaders in Icesi’s governing bodies is very valuable for counselling and support of the School of Business and Economics and guarantees engagement with the business community.
