Established in 2016, the School of Management traces its roots to the former School of Economics and Management, founded in the early 2000s and originating from the Department of Economics and Trade of Zhanjiang Ocean University (renamed Guangdong Ocean University in 2005). Leveraging its strategic location at the southern tip of the South China Sea, the school emphasises both teaching and research with a distinct marine focus. By striking a balance between scale and quality and integrating tradition with innovation, the school has forged a robust disciplinary structure where various fields thrive and distinctive disciplines stand out.

Academic Conferences: Hosted 20+ major conferences (e.g., 2020 Guangdong Systems Engineering Society Annual Meeting,2022 International Symposium on Sino-Japan-Korea Marine Economy & Technology Cooperation, 2024 China Marine Economy Forum), with 600+ faculty participation in academic events.
