Founded in 1999, ESE is the first exclusively graduate business school in Chile, with a mission to develop educational programs aimed at business executives. The school seeks to influence the Chilean business landscape by equipping students with the necessary tools and knowledge to contribute effectively to their organizations. All academic activities take place at ESE´s facilities. ESE is situated on a two-hectare plot within a residential area of Santiago, designed to meet world-class educational standards. The facility is a three-story building, with 7,400 square meters. There are 4 classrooms, three with a capacity for 85 students and one with a capacity for 60 people. In addition, there are 24 teamwork rooms. The building also has an auditorium for 250 people and 40 offices designed for faculty members as well as for the management and admission staff. The School, through its 10 Research Centers, promotes research aimed at understanding and solving present and future problems for companies and society. In addition, it has a solid association of graduates (Alumni) integrated by more than 4.000 Alumni and 1.000 active members. The distinctive feature of ESE programs is their practical approach, combined with strong academic rigor. The case method is intensively used as a learning tool, following HBS and IESE. This methodology is appropriate for ESE´s students, because it considers the development of management skills and higher order skills such as prudent decision making, critical thinking, and enhancing teamwork, communication, and negotiation, all essential skills for management professionals.
