Henan University Business School originated from the Business Department of National No. 5 Sun Yat-sen University in 1927. Since the 1980s, the college has entered a period of rapid development. After the Department of Finance and Economics, the School of Economics and Trade Management, the School of Management, the School of Business Administration and other stages, it was renamed the Business School in 2015. After more than 90 years of construction and development, the college has become a teaching and scientific research center in the central region to cultivate business talents and serve social development.

For more than 90 years since its establishment, the college has adhered to the school motto of "bright morality, new people, stop at the best". After generations of business scholars have passed down and hard work, it has condensed the motto of "bright morality and spread the way, business good to the world", and formed a development strategy of "building a school with quality, strong discipline, talent development, scientific management, and harmonious development". At present, the college has formed a complete talent training system from undergraduate, master's to doctoral. It has a doctoral degree authorization point and a postdoctoral scientific research mobile station in the first-level discipline of business administration. Management science and engineering have been included in the key construction disciplines of the doctoral degree authorization point in Henan Province; it has three first-level master's degree points in business administration, management science and engineering, applied economics, MBA, MPAcc, engineering management, etc. 3 professional degree master's degree points; 3 undergraduate majors such as business administration, accounting, e-commerce, etc., are all national first-class undergraduate construction majors. Business administration, management science and engineering are key disciplines in Henan Province. According to the "2022 Soft Science China's Best Discipline Ranking", the business administration discipline ranks in the top 17% of the business administration discipline ranking of colleges and universities in the country.

There are 129 faculty members in the college. There are 27 postdoctoral students in the station, including 2 postdoctoral teachers, 5 foreign postdoctoral students, 9 in-service postdoctoral students, and 11 postdoctoral students in the school. There are 7 lecture professors, 132 part-time professors and professional tutors.

The college currently has 2006 students. Among them, there are 1,080 full-time undergraduates and 926 graduate students. The college has two national first-class undergraduate courses, Financial Management and Cross-border E-commerce 1210 Model Virtual Simulation Experiment, and provincial first-class undergraduate courses such as Accounting, Microeconomics, Human Resources Management, Marketing, Human Resources Management, and organizational behavior. Cheng, financial management provincial teaching team, accounting provincial professional comprehensive reform pilot, Henan e-commerce innovation, entrepreneurship and talent training incubation base; the Department of Finance is an excellent grass-roots teaching organization in Henan Province, the Party branch of the Department of Accounting and the Party Branch of the Department of Human Resources Management are the grass-roots model party branch of Henan universities; the construction has Business Administration Experimental Teaching Center, Modern Logistics Experimental Training Center, and 36 off-campus training bases.
