Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski achieves Association of MBAs re-accreditation for its MBA programmes
Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on postgraduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.
Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA students and recent MBA alumni of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski are invited to become part of AMBA’s global member community of more than 80,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries, free of charge, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.
Accreditation from AMBA represents the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes that demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve AMBA accreditation.
Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski is the leading comprehensive public university in Bulgaria and the one with the highest research ranking. It traces its origin to 1888, when its first faculty of History and Philology was founded. The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration traces its origin to the Department of Public Economy founded within the Faculty of Law in 1938.
During the AMBA accreditation process, the panel, comprising senior leaders from international business schools, commended the school’s interdisciplinary (cross-faculty) partnership programmes: with the Mathematics & Informatics, Law, Physics, and Geography faculties.
The panel also mentioned the school’s adoption of responsible management: inclusion, sustainability and responsibility, including Braille signage and related teaching innovations.
Finally, the panel noted the support by the University leadership for the School.
