SGH Warsaw School of Economics has officially received joint accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Business Graduates Association (BGA), two of the world’s leading authorities on business education. The accreditations were awarded after a thorough evaluation process, which involved a panel of senior business school leaders from around the world.

SGH Warsaw School of Economics, founded in 1906 as Poland’s first University of commerce, is a leading public higher education institution specialising in economics and business. Located in the capital city, the school plays a leading role in the national education landscape and is widely recognised as a prestigious academic institution, both within Poland and across Central and Eastern Europe.

During the accreditation process, members of the AMBA & BGA accreditation panel commended the school for its very strong set of values, which clearly permeate all of its activities. The school’s stakeholders reflect these values and are its’ very best ambassadors.

The panel also mentioned that the school embraces a learning community concept of ‘from kindergarten to retirement’, which is very powerful and allows the institution and its programmes to be an open, academic conduit to society.

Finally, the panel noted that the school is a national leader in the tracking of graduate employability.

Upon receiving the AMBA accreditation, all current and recent graduates of the school’s MBA portfolio are invited to join AMBA’s global membership network, which comprises approximately 60,000 students and alumni from over 150 countries.

Meanwhile, all undergraduates and alumni from any of the business school’s programmes are invited to join BGA’s individual membership network. Through both these organisations, students and graduates can strengthen a community that acts as a force for good in management thought and practice, through exclusive events and business content.

AMBA & BGA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and the organisation works with senior academics at top educational institutions around the world to continuously update accreditation criteria and maintain a unique, in-depth, and detailed approach.

AMBA & BGA believe accredited schools should be of the highest standard and reflect changing trends and innovation in postgraduate management education. As such, the accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation and challenges business schools to continuously perform at the highest level.

SGH Professor JACEK PROKOP, Vice Rector for International Relations, said: “Accreditation processes give us a unique opportunity to more deeply reflect on our Alma Mater. The preparation of documents and accreditation visits make us stronger, but also make us aware that there are some areas for improvement.

SGH Warsaw School of Economics has also successfully completed the application process for the combined AMBA & BGA accreditation in May 2025, confirming the highest quality of its MBA programs and the unique nature of the entire institution. This is another significant step in the development of SGH as a leading business school in Central and Eastern Europe, and at the same time, confirmation of its belonging to the world's educational elite.

It is worth noting that the quality standards of business schools are constantly evolving, adapting to new educational models, ever-changing business needs, diverse requirements of lifelong learners, as well as the rapid pace of development of new, increasingly advanced technologies.

To sum up, international accreditations contribute to the increase in the number of potential students, especially from geographically and culturally distant countries, and to the development of research cooperation with the world’s leading business schools.”

Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of AMBA & BGA, said: “We are delighted that SGH Warsaw School of Economics has achieved joint AMBA re-accreditation and BGA accreditation. These accreditations mean that the school is part of a select group of world-class business schools that uphold the highest standards of excellence in management education. I would like to congratulate everyone at the school who worked towards these accreditations and look forward to seeing its continued impact on the business world."
