Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business at Universiti Utara Malaysia’s MBM programme becomes first in Malaysia to be accredited

Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business at Universiti Utara Malaysia has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities in post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.

Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA and recent MBA alumni of Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 60,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.

Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) at Universiti Utara Malaysia stands at the forefront of postgraduate business education, offering prestigious programmes such as the MBA,

MBM, DBA, PhD and DMgt.

The panel visited the school to add an MBM to the school’s existing MBA accreditation.

Accreditation from the Association of MBAs represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.

During the accreditation process conducted by AMBA, members of the accreditation panel, representing senior management from globally accredited business schools, commended the school’s clear ambition around delivering post-graduate management education in Kuala Lumpur. The school’s location in central KL was seen to be integral to the school and the delivery of their programmes.

The panel also noted that the school has a positive gender balance among the MBM faculty teaching team.

Finally the panel were impressed by the many interesting and unique parts of the MBM course.  For example the internship/project was seen to be a valuable feature for the MBM programme, while the  carousel model and flexibility between full and part time learning was seen to add a competitive advantage for the school.
