Henley Business School at the University of Reading has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities in postgraduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.
Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA and DBA students, and recent MBA and DBA alumni of Henley Business School are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 60,000 students and alumni in over 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.
Accreditation from the Association of MBAs represents the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.
Henley Business School is one of 14 schools of the University of Reading. It is located on two campuses: the Whiteknights campus in Reading and the Greenlands campus in Henley-on-Thames.
During the AMBA accreditation process, the panel members, representing senior management at global business schools, commended the quality of the school’s DBA programme which they thought was exceptional.
The panel also mentioned the personal development module included in the MBA programme, saying that it offered a distinctive element to the programme and was highly appreciated by students.
Finally, the panel noted that the school’s mission and engagement in South Africa is laudable, including their vision to address pressing socio-economic challenges, foster sustainable development, and contribute positively to the country's growth trajectory.
Professor Elena B Spasova, Dean at Henley Business School, said: “We’re thrilled to achieve the AMBA re-accreditation. It’s a benchmark of excellence from the leading authority on MBA education and means that we maintain our position as one of the top business schools in the world. Our success is a testament to all the hard work and commitment to excellence of our faculty, staff, students and alumni. We look forward to working with AMBA in the future.”
AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and consider changing trends and innovation in postgraduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation and demanding business schools to perform at the highest level continually.
Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA), said: “I am so delighted that Henley Business School has received this re-accreditation. The school is excelling in so many areas including its exceptional learning environments, its leadership and innovative alumni opportunities. I look forward to working with this school in the future.”
