HEC Paris launches 12-month accelerated MBA programme

In order to address the growing demand for more flexibility in postgraduate education, HEC Paris Business School is to offer a new format of its MBA programme, enabling participants to enrol for a year instead of the usual 16  months

The new programme, which commences in January next year, is aimed at professionals who want to return to work sooner. As with the regular 16-month programme, the 12-month MBA provides a choice of seven specialisations: Strategy Marketing, Strategy, Data & AI for Business Transformation, Advanced Management, Sustainable & Disruptive Innovation, plus Finance and Entrepreneurship.

As well as global networking opportunities and personalised career development, the programme provides access to HEC Paris's alumni network of more than 80,000 people across 152 countries.

The 12-month option will offer a narrower range of customisation and will entail five intensive courses spread across three-day blocks, four times a year. These courses address professional and industry-specific skills and cover a large scope of topics, from blockchain and fundraising to leadership and investing.

The courses will be held on campus at Jouy-en-Josas, or at the HEC UK Alumni House in London. Commenting on the announcement, associate dean of MBA programmes Brad Harris said: “We’re thrilled to formally announce the 12-month MBA option. Our MBA programme has always been one that prioritises quality alongside student choice and flexibility – and this new offering stays true to those aims.

“We quietly tested this option for several cycles and are confident that we can deliver a transformative experience in a way that aligns with prospective students’ goals, as well as the expectations of organisations seeking to sponsor high-potential talents. We’ll continue to innovate our curriculum and programmes to fulfil our purpose of building leaders with the character, competence and courage to change the world.”

The 12-month MBA programme tuition costs €98,000, the same as the 16-month format; applications are now open for the January 2025 intake.
