ESSCA School of Management has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities in post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.
Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA and MBM and recent MBA and MBM alumni of ESSCA School of Management are invited to be part of AMBA’s global member community of more than 60,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.
Accreditation from AMBA represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve AMBA accreditation.
ESSCA School of Management was founded in 1909 and is a French Grande École. Now a private, non‑profit institution, ESSCA operates ten campuses - including six in France (Angers, Paris, Aix‑en‑Provence, Bordeaux, Lyon, Strasbourg) and four international sites (Budapest, Luxembourg, Shanghai and Málaga).
During the accreditation process conducted by AMBA, members of the accreditation panel, representing senior management from global business schools, commended the school for its ambitious strategy, which has strengthened brand recognition both internationally and across its multipolar presence in France, while preserving the distinctive identity of its historic base in Angers.
The panel also noted the clarity, scope and demonstrable impact of ESSCA’s careers services which they felt were noteworthy and reflected strong institutional commitment to student employability.
Jean Charroin, Dean & CEO of ESSCA said: “The recognition by AMBA reaffirms the outstanding quality of ESSCA’s programmes, now delivered across five countries and tailored to local economic challenges. This decision rewards the continuous improvement of the MBM, Executive MBM and the online experiential MBA focused on Business & Technology, in partnership with the École nationale supérieure d’Arts et Métiers. This collaboration with a leading engineering Grande École aims to train leaders who are committed to technological and environmental transformation in a rapidly changing world. With our ambitious KAIROS 2030 strategic plan, our intention is clear: to make ESSCA one of the best working, research and learning environments in Europe by 2030. To reach this goal, the quality of our programmes, the student experience and the impact of our research are at the very heart of our project.”
AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and consider changing trends and innovation in post-graduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation, and demanding business schools to perform at the highest level continually.
Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA) said: “I am delighted that ESSCA has been re-accredited for its MBA and MBM programmes and that it remains in our network of schools. The panel was particularly impressed by the exceptional quality of the MBM programme, recognising it as a strong example of both academic excellence and operational leadership.”
