Cardiff Business School at Cardiff University has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities in post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.
Upon receiving AMBA re-accreditation, all current MBA and recent MBA alumni of Cardiff Business School are invited to continue to be part of AMBA’s global member community of more than 60,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.
Accreditation from AMBA represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve AMBA accreditation.
Cardiff University was founded in 1883 and is a public research-intensive, comprehensive institution. It is the only institution in Wales that belongs to the Russell Group. C
At the business school, there are 22 undergraduate programmes, 19 specialist master’s programmes, 3MBA programmes and two doctoral programmes.
During the re-accreditation process conducted by AMBA, members of the accreditation panel, representing senior management from global business schools, commended the collegiality and spirit of the school which they thought was authentic, positive, and infectious.
The school was also seen to be purpose-led and based on a Public Value ethos, exemplified by how much importance the employers placed on the often unique approach of the programmes. Finally, the panel noted that the research excellence of the school was evident across its disciplines and research centres and they thought this offered both breadth and depth. The panel thought that this provided an excellent foundation for launching cross-disciplinary initiatives.
“We are thrilled to have received AMBA re-accreditation following a rigorous peer review process. This achievement highlights our commitment to delivering world-class MBA programmes that embody our unique public value purpose. Thank you to everyone involved in our MBA programmes and the reaccreditation process.” Said, Professor Tim Edwards, Dean and Head of Cardiff Business School.
AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and consider changing trends and innovation in post-graduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation, and demanding business schools to perform at the highest level continually.
Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA) said: “I am absolutely delighted that Cardiff Business School has received re-accreditation from AMBA. I would like to personally congratulate everyone who worked so hard towards this reaccreditation. The school is of very high quality and is therefore very deserving of its place in the AMBA network. I look forward to working with the school in the future.”
