In today’s rapidly advancing economy, managers often need a diverse set of skills—requiring not only deep knowledge in a specific field but also the ability to manage teams, clients, and business operations. This is where a business school that can effectively leverage other faculties or external partners can directly address evolving market needs.
However, interdisciplinary education is often fraught with challenges. Most commonly, university faculties remain in vertical silos, leaving little room for collaboration. Programmes frequently fail to focus on tackling complex, real-world problems that require multidisciplinary thinking, instead defaulting to the traditional model of delivering a diploma with the aim of securing a job.
In this workshop, attendees will be introduced to an alternative approach—demonstrating how business schools can collaborate with both internal university faculties and external partners or hubs to offer solution-driven education that integrates multiple disciplines to meet today’s pressing challenges.
Attendees can expect to learn how to:
Create solution-driven programmes that draw from multiple disciplines
Break down barriers between faculties
Leverage external partners to provide multidisciplinary education
Develop internal structures that foster joint research and collaboration across faculties and partners
